In a major breakthrough, the Central District police team of PS Chandni Mahal has arrested two kidnappers involved in a recent kidnapping case.
According to the police, a complaint was received about the abduction of a person in the Chandni Mahal area. On the evening of 28 July the complainant reported that her husband, who works as a visa agent, had been called for dinner by his business partner Bablu (Mohd. Jiya Iqbal) to Shaheen Bagh, after which his mobile phone went switched off. Subsequently, she received a call from an unknown person who alleged that her husband had committed fraud. On the basis of her complaint and apprehension that her husband had been abducted by Bablu and his associates, a case was registered at PS Chandni Mahal and investigation was taken up. Acting swiftly on the information, a dedicated team was formed.
The Police team visited the flat of Bablu (Mohd. Jiya Iqbal) at Shaheen Bagh, but he was found absconding. A dedicated team was formed. Through technical surveillance and local intelligence, after an intensive search, the victim was recovered from Taimur Nagar, Delhi. His medical examination was conducted and his statement was recorded. In his statement, he disclosed that he was illegally confined by Safatulla Khan, Mohd. Jiya Iqbal @ Bablu and Aas Mohd., who physically assaulted him, recorded his obscene videos, and circulated online. He further stated that the accused persons also demanded a sum of ₹2 lakhs from him.
Thereafter, the victim was shifted to Noida by the accused persons Sadik and Ali Asgar where he was kept confined for one day before being released. On 29 july, while returning home he was traced and recovered by the police team Taimur Nagar, Delhi.
On 29 July itself police conducted raids at Shaheen Bagh and arrested three accused persons, namely Mohd. Jiya Iqbal @ Bablu, Safatulla, and Aas Mohd. S/o Aslam. However, two co-accused, namely Mohd. Ali Asgar Ansari, R/o Baburban, Muzaffarpur, Bihar, Age 33 years and Mohd. Sadik, R/o Lahi, Bihar, Age 39 years, managed to evade arrest.
In compliance with the directions of the Worthy DCP Nidhin Valsan a special drive was undertaken to arrest leftover criminals. Acting upon specific information developed through local intelligence and technical surveillance, it was revealed that two accused persons are wanted and were hiding in Noida. After locating the accused persons, the team constantly developed information through local intelligence and technical surveillance. On 09 September acting on specific and reliable information regarding their hideouts, the team successfully apprehended them from Sector-5, Noida.
Both accused hail from Bihar and school dropouts. They initially worked as overseas employment suppliers and have now started a bag manufacturing business.
With the arrest of these two leftover criminals, the team of PS Chandni Mahal has achieved a major success in the ongoing drive against absconding and wanted criminals.
