South District Police have exposed an international gang involved in visa-passport forgery and online fraud with the arrest of four African nationals. Acting on a tip-off, the Special Staff conducted raids and recovered laptops, a colour printer, mobile phones, ATM cards, and a large number of forged travel documents from the accused.
Police said that the gang was actively preparing fake visas, digitally designing visa pages, and pasting them into original passports. In addition, they created false social media profiles to dupe Indian citizens with fabricated stories such as goods stuck at customs, thereby extracting money from unsuspecting victims.
The breakthrough in the case came after police recovered 355 grams of cocaine from Chhatarpur a few days ago and registered a case under the NDPS Act. During interrogation, investigators discovered that the forgery racket was being masterminded by Navachukwu Benjamin, who was operating from Burari–Sant Nagar.
According to officials, Benjamin entered India illegally in 2017 via the “donkey route” after previously travelling to Pakistan. Shockingly, he even used a Pakistani visa number in his fraudulent operations. Soon after entering India, he began forging visas and passports to make quick money. His modus operandi included scanning passports, digitally preparing fake visa pages, and pasting them into genuine documents.
Police said the racket had both local and international links, and its members were not only forging documents but also carrying out online scams targeting Indian citizens. The arrests have dealt a major blow to a highly active forgery network in the capital.
Further investigation is underway to trace the other associates and uncover the full extent of the gang’s international connections.
