In a major joint operation, Delhi Police Special Cell, Haryana STF, and UP STF gunned down two hardcore associates (Ravinder & Arun) of gangster Rohit Godara during an encounter in Tronica City, Ghaziabad.
The accused, Ravinder and Arun, were involved in a brazen firing incident at the residence of Bollywood actress Disha Patani in Bareilly and had been absconding since then. Following the attack, Bareilly Police and UP STF shared crucial inputs with the Delhi Police Special Cell and Haryana STF, leading to a coordinated effort to track the shooters.
CCTV footage revealed that Ravinder and Arun were riding a white Apache motorcycle at the time of the incident. Ravinder, seated at the back, dismounted and opened fire using a sophisticated jigana pistol. Both shooters were hardcore criminals with several pending cases against them.
Acting on fresh intelligence that the shooters were heading to Ghaziabad for another crime, police set up a trap in a secluded area of Tronica City. When asked to surrender, but both the shooter’s opened fire at the police team, including three rounds directed at the Haryana STF vehicle. the shooters fired at the police, resulting in an exchange of gunfire. Both were injured and later declared dead at the hospital.
From the scene, police recovered the jigana pistol, a Glock pistol, and several cartridges. It was also noted that three rounds were fired from the Haryana STF’s vehicle. Additionally, two Delhi Police personnel and two UP STF personnel were injured during the encounter.
Additionally, the identity of the individual who was conducting the recce outside the victim’s house is yet to be ascertained, and the Delhi Police is actively working on that lead.
The bodies of Ravinder and Arun were taken to the government hospital in Loni around 8 a.m. and will be sent for post-mortem shortly to determine the exact number of bullet wounds.
The Police is now investigating to determine who provided the jigana pistol, the Glock pistol, and the cartridges
