In a major operation against the illegal sale and storage of banned firecrackers, the Central Range of the Crime Branch, Delhi Police, conducted coordinated raids across multiple locations in Delhi. Police seized a total of 423 kg of banned firecrackers and apprehended three accused persons.
1. Raid at Sadar Bazar
A dedicated team led by Inspector Sunil Kumar Kalkhande, including SI Birpal Singh, HC Parveen, HC Jai Singh, HC Vijay Singh, HC Samander, and HC Raushan, carried out a raid in Filmistan, Sadar Bazar.
Accused Arrested
1. Ashutosh Mishra (24 years), S/o Suresh Sharan Mishra, resident of Pahari Dhiraj, Sadar Bazar, Delhi
2. Aryan Dubey (20 years), S/o Arjun Dubey, resident of Pahari Dhiraj, Sadar Bazar, Delhi
Recovered Details:-
• 8 heavy white plastic bags containing 148 kg of banned firecrackers
Profile of Accused:-
Both Ashutosh Mishra and Aryan Dubey are students of Delhi University with no previous criminal record. They had purchased banned firecrackers online and planned to sell them during the festive season to make profit.
2. Raid at Ashok Nagar Market, M.S. Park, Shahdara
Another team, led by Inspector Gaurav Choudhary, along with SI Naveen Dahiya, SI Rishi Kumar, ASI Arunpal, and HC Ankur Kumar, conducted a raid in Ashok Nagar Market, M.S. Park.

Rakesh Kumar (52), S/o Late Ram Niwas, resident of New Modern Shahdara, PS M.S. Park, Delhi
Recovered Details
• Carton bags containing 275 kg of banned firecrackers
• FIR Registered:
• FIR No. 274/2025 dated 28.09.2025 U/s 288/223(B) BNS & 9B Explosives Act, PS Crime Branch
Profile of Accused
• Rakesh Kumar is a wholesaler of festival items with basic education (up to 10th class) and has two children.
• He was previously involved in a similar offence and dealt in seasonal goods according to festival demand.
Total Recovery
Combined seizure from both operations: 423 kg of banned firecrackers of various brands and types.
DCP Vikram Singh, praised for his firm leadership, stated that the Crime Branch, Delhi Police, is fully committed to curbing the illegal firecracker trade, especially during the festive season. He emphasised that under his supervision, strict action will continue to ensure public safety, environmental protection, and compliance with the orders of the Hon’ble Supreme Court.
