The Special Cell of Delhi Police (Southern Range) has achieved a major success by arresting an important member of the Kapil Sangwan @ Nandu gang. The arrested accused has been identified as Harish Saini @ Hitesh @ Lucky, aged 35 years, resident of Nihal Vihar, Delhi. With his arrest, the police have solved a sensational murder case registered at Police Station Badli, Jhajjar, Haryana.
During the operation, the team recovered one single-shot pistol and two live cartridges from the accused. Harish Saini was already wanted in a murder case involving the killing of Sandeep @ Bablu, a resident of Ladpur village in Jhajjar district, Haryana.
The Case
On 17 July 2025, Sandeep @ Bablu was shot dead by two unidentified men in Ladpur village. Investigation revealed that on the instructions of gangster Kapil Sangwan @ Nandu, Harish Saini had arranged the logistics and provided support to the shooters involved in the crime.
A case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Arms Act was registered at PS Badli (FIR No. 190/2025, dated 18 July 2025).
On 01 October 2025, the Special Cell team, led by ACP Neeraj Kumar and Inspector Sumit Kadyan, received a secret tip-off from HC Rajeev that the accused was hiding at a house in Nihal Vihar, Delhi. Acting on this input, a police team consisting of SI Manish, SI Virender, HC Rajeev, HC Dipak Sharma, Ct. Sonu, Ct. Naseeb, and W/Ct. Rajni was formed to apprehend him.
The team conducted a raid at the given location. On spotting the police, the accused tried to flee and even pulled out a pistol from under some clothes, pointing it toward the police party. However, the alert team members overpowered him safely and recovered the firearm and cartridges.
Subsequently, a new case (FIR No. 256/2025, dated 02.10.2025) under Sections 132/221 BNS and 25 Arms Act was registered at Police Station Special Cell.
Investigations have revealed that Harish Saini is a habitual offender and has been previously involved in several cases of robbery and possession of illegal arms. He was
Born in 1990, Harish Saini studied up to class seven. After his father’s death, his mother worked as a domestic help to support the family. His elder brother is currently lodged in Tihar Jail in connection with a murder case registered at PS Mohan Garden. During his stay in jail, Harish came in contact with members of the Kapil @ Nandu gang and later started working for them.
