The team of Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), Crime Branch, Delhi, under the supervision of ACP Rajkumar and leadership of DCP Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, has arrested a wanted accused involved in a sensational murder case of Meerut. The accused, identified as Hamza (son of Khalid), resident of Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, was apprehended after a brief encounter in the Rohini area of Delhi.
During the operation, police recovered one sophisticated pistol (.32 bore), three live cartridges, and a scooty that was stolen from PS Rani Bagh, Delhi.
On October 1, a brutal murder took place in Meerut where Adil (son of Kamil), resident of Lisadi Gate, Meerut, was taken by his friends to a jungle area and shot dead mercilessly. The accused Hamza along with his associates fired three bullets at Adil’s chest from close range. Shockingly, the crime was recorded on a mobile phone, and a 12-second video of the incident went viral on social media, creating public outrage.
An FIR was registered at PS Lohiya Nagar, Meerut. Since the incident, Hamza had been absconding and continuously evading arrest.
On the night of October 8–9, SI Anshu Kadian received secret information about Hamza’s movement in Delhi. Acting swiftly, a team was formed. Around midnight, the accused was spotted near DDA Jal Board Building, Rohini, riding a scooty.
When police tried to intercept him, he attempted to flee but lost control, and his scooty slipped on the road. In a desperate attempt to escape, Hamza opened fire at the police team, firing two rounds. The police retaliated in self-defence, and SI Anshu Kadian along with HC Mahipal fired back. One bullet hit the accused’s left leg, and he was overpowered and taken into custody.
During questioning, Hamza confessed that he, along with his associates, had killed Adil by firing at him from point-blank range. He also admitted that in 2024, he had opened fire on one Wasi, who was injured in the attack. He further revealed that his associate Julkmar was recently arrested by Meerut Police after a brief encounter, while he managed to escape.
Criminal Background:
Hamza is a notorious and repeat offender involved in several serious crimes including murder and attempt to murder. He is known for his violent and aggressive behavior, posing a constant threat to public safety and law enforcement.
He is also involved in two attempt-to-murder cases registered in Uttar Pradesh, including FIR No. 587/25 dated 05.10.2025 under section 109(1) BNS and 27 Arms Act, at PS Lohiya Nagar, Meerut. Details of other cases are being verified.

Efforts are ongoing to trace and arrest the remaining members of the criminal group involved in the Meerut murder case.
DCP Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, praised the dedicated efforts, teamwork, and courage of the ANTF/Crime Branch team for swiftly tracking and arresting the wanted accused after a brief encounter.
He said the operation reflects the commitment and coordination of the Delhi Police in tackling dangerous criminals and ensuring public safety.
