In a major crackdown, the Crime Branch of Delhi Police, under the leadership of DCP Crime-I  Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, has busted a fake lubricant (engine oil) manufacturing and packing unit in East Gokulpuri, East Delhi. The team seized around 4000 litres of counterfeit engine oil and arrested the main accused, Naveen Singhal alias Bobby.

On 12th October,  the Crime Branch received information about a factory where duplicate engine oil of popular brands like TVS, JCB, and Tata Motors was being manufactured and packed for sale.

Acting swiftly, a special team led by Inspector Amit Solanki, under the supervision of ACP Pankaj Arora, was formed. The team included SI Arvind Kumar, SI Ankur Yadav, ASI Rajiv Kumar, HC Mukesh, HC Amit, and HC Tej Pratap.

The team, along with an authorized representative from M/s Protect IP India Pvt. Ltd., raided the premises in East Gokulpuri. During the raid, a fully functional illegal unit was found operating with machines, labels, and packaging materials of reputed brands.

During the search, police recovered the following:

• 62 cartons of filled lubricant oil bottles (TVS brand)
• 5 large drums filled with lubricant oil
• Hundreds of empty bottles, caps, labels, and cartons of TVS, JCB, and Tata Motors
• Machines used for sealing, heating, weighing, and printing
• Around 4000 litres of counterfeit lubricant oil in total

The mastermind, Naveen Singhal alias Bobby (50 years), was running this illegal business with four workers from Mainpuri, Uttar Pradesh.

They bought raw oil and packaging materials locally, filled the bottles with substandard oil, and pasted fake labels and holograms of well-known brands. These duplicate products were then sold to local auto shops and wholesalers at cheap prices, often claiming them to be original or surplus stock.

Each month, they produced and sold around 8,000–10,000 litres of fake engine oil, earning nearly ₹5 lakh per month. The packaging was so convincing that it was almost impossible for regular buyers or mechanics to identify the fake products.

Accused Persons:

1. Naveen Singhal alias Bobby (50 yrs) — Mastermind, resident of East Jyoti Nagar, Shahdara, Delhi
2. Gautam (27 yrs) — Labour, from Mainpuri (UP)
3. Rohit (24 yrs) — Labour, from Mainpuri (UP)
4. Goldy (33 yrs) — Labour, from Mainpuri (UP)
5. Shivender (35 yrs) — Labour, from Mainpuri (UP)

Criminal Background of Mastermind:

Naveen Singhal alias Bobby has been involved in similar illegal activities in the past. He has three previous cases registered against him:

1. FIR No. 274/2004, PS Mansarovar Park, Delhi
2. FIR No. 159/2021, PS Gokulpuri, Delhi
3. FIR No. 189/2022, PS Gokulpuri, Delhi

Case Registered:
