New Delhi, The West District Police in a swift and professional operation, successfully rescued a 27-day-old kidnapped infant and arrested a childless couple along with their associates, including two juveniles. A stolen scooty used in the crime was also recovered during the operation.
The case came to light when a complaint regarding the infant’s abduction was received at PS Tilak Nagar. SHO Tilak Nagar immediately formed a dedicated team. The operation was carried out under the supervision of Dr. Garima Tiwari, ACP/Tilak Nagar, with overall guidance from the DCP, Darade Sharad Bhaskar, West District.
The police team meticulously scanned over 200 CCTV cameras in the area to trace the movements of the accused. Footage revealed two individuals arriving on a scooty around 5:00 AM and fleeing with the kidnapped infant. The scooty, bearing registration number DL4SBR6184, was traced to being a stolen vehicle registered at PS Naraina (E-FIR No. 28031/2025).
Further investigation revealed that one Vikas @ Ryon, already lodged in jail for a separate case, had handed over the stolen scooty to one Anil, who later gave it to juvenile ‘X’. Interrogation of juvenile ‘X’ helped uncover the full conspiracy behind the kidnapping.
Maya, a maid residing in Uttam Nagar and working in Kirti Nagar, befriended her neighbours — Shubh Karan and his wife Sanyogita — who were childless despite several years of marriage. Maya noticed a woman living on the roadside near Pacific Mall, Subhash Nagar, with a newborn baby and hatched a plan to abduct the child. She offered ₹20,000 to juvenile ‘X’ to execute the kidnapping.
Juvenile ‘X’ and his associate juvenile ‘Y’ carried out the abduction using the stolen scooty and handed the infant to Maya. Maya then passed the baby to the childless couple, Shubh Karan and Sanyogita.
The police acted promptly and arrested the following individuals from their residences:
• Shubh Karan, 36, POP/Paint Worker, Uttam Nagar, Delhi
• Sanyogita, 27, Housewife, Uttam Nagar, Delhi
• Maya, 40, Housemaid, Uttam Nagar, Delhi
• CCLs ‘X’ and ‘Y’, both 16 years old
Recovery:
• 27-day-old kidnapped infant — safely rescued and reunited with biological parents
• Stolen scooty (DL4SBR6184) — recovered and linked to PS Naraina (E-FIR No. 28031/2025)
