Report: Manmeen Walia, New Delhi
Sonipat STF has achieved a major breakthrough by arresting seven sharpshooters of the Rohit Godara gang, who were planning to spread terror in Delhi NCR, Haryana, Punjab, and Chandigarh. The STF will present all seven in Charkhi Dadri Court today for remand.
Tensions between Lawrence Bishnoi and Rohit Godara gangs have become evident in North India. Rohit Godara, operating from abroad, was planning large-scale attacks across multiple states. However, the Sonipat STF team led by Inspector Yogendra Dahiya got wind of these plans in time. During the operation, STF recovered 7 modern pistols and around 200 bullets from the arrested gang members. SP STF Wasim Akram briefed the media about this major success in a press conference.
The seven sharpshooters, including Rohit from village Katwal, Sonipat, Mohammad Shazid, Manav Kumar, Vikaspal, Happy, Jabbarjang, and Vijay Kumar, were tasked with firing at traders, influential people, and rival gang members to instill fear in Haryana, Delhi NCR, Punjab, and Chandigarh. STF recovered 1 Jigna, PX3, 2 Indian 9mm pistols, and 1 Star pistol, along with 8 mobile phones and 200 bullets. Inspector Yogendra Dahiya and his team regard this operation as a huge success, as it prevented multiple serious crimes and interrupted gang wars.
Following this achievement, senior Haryana Police officials congratulated the entire STF team. SP STF Wasim Akram stated that under Operation Track Down, seven sharpshooters of Rohit Godara gang were arrested, and gang leaders operating from abroad are being deported. Interpol Red Corner Notices are being issued against gang leaders wherever they are traced.
