Bareilly Police arrested the 5th accused in the firing case at Bollywood actress Disha Patani’s residence.
The accused, identified as Ramniwas alias Deepak alias Deepu (19 years), son of Senaram, resident of Bedkala village, Jaitaran, Beawar, Rajasthan, was injured in a police encounter near the Bihari Pur river bridge on Dunka–Bihari Pur road under Shahi police station.
👉 Ramniwas, a ₹25,000 reward criminal, sustained a bullet injury in his knee during the encounter. He was actively involved in the recce and the firing incident. Police confirmed that he was also captured in petrol pump CCTV footage prior to the attack.
After being shot, he reportedly said, “Accused will not come to UP again; no one dares to face Baba’s police.”
Recoveries from his possession:
• One .32 bore pistol
• Four live cartridges (.32 bore)
• Four empty cartridges (.32 bore)
Another accused, Anil, son of Satish, resident of Rajpur village, Badi police station, Sonipat, was also caught. From him, police recovered:
• One country-made pistol (.315 bore)
• Four empty cartridges (.315 bore)
• Two live cartridges (.315 bore)
Police also seized a Splendor Plus motorcycle without a number plate, which was used in the recce of Disha Patani’s house.
Both accused — Ramniwas from Rajasthan and Anil from Sonipat — were part of the conspiracy. The encounter was carried out jointly by SOG and Shahi police.
Earlier, in the same case, Ghaziabad STF killed shooter Arun in an encounter, while Delhi Police arrested shooters Nakul and Vijay.
SSP Bareilly Anurag Arya said that the police acted swiftly and effectively in the operation, and underlined that no criminal will be allowed to escape the law.
