For the first time in Uttar Pradesh, a police encounter has taken place between a female police team and a criminal. On 22 Nov in a swift and commendable action, the female police team of Ghaziabad arrested a suspect involved in multiple cases of robbery, theft, and snatching during a police encounter.
Circle Officer Upasana Pandey informed that on the previous day, police teams were conducting vehicle checks across Ghaziabad near the Lohia Nagar checkpoint when they spotted a suspicious individual on a scooter coming from Meerut Road. The suspect was signaled to stop using hand gestures and a torchlight, but he attempted to flee, turning the scooter towards the right side of the road.
A chase ensued, and during the pursuit, the suspect lost control of the scooter and fell. Following proper self-defence protocols, the police team fired at the suspect, resulting in his injury.
The arrested individual has been identified as Jitender, son of Nand Kishore, resident of Sec 9, Vijay Nagar, Jamulta, Aligarh, aged 22 years. He was immediately admitted to the district MMG Hospital in Ghaziabad for treatment.
During interrogation, Jitender confessed to stealing motorcycles and scooters from the NCR region, which he then used to snatch phones, money, and other valuables from people on the streets. He also admitted to selling these stolen items at cheap prices to fund personal hobbies. He further revealed that the tablet and phone recovered from him were stolen the previous night from a house near PS Crossing Republic Kamla Hall, and the scooter was stolen from Delhi last year.

Jitender faces eight charges related to robbery, theft, and snatching, with multiple FIRs registered against him at PS Vijay Nagar.
The female police team, which includes two women Sub-Inspectors, carried out this action. This is their second encounter.
The female police officers have also issued a warning that any criminal who tries to fire at the police or attempts a major crime will be dealt with strictly and arrested in the same manner.
