Central Delhi District Police have recovered a stolen TVS Jupiter scooty and apprehended a 12-year-old juvenile thief in an auto-lifting case.
On 09 Sep, a complaint was received at PS Anand Parbat regarding the theft of the scooty, and an E-FIR was registered. A dedicated team was formed under the supervision of Inspector Subhash Chandra, SHO Anand Parbat, to trace the culprits.
During the investigation, multiple CCTV cameras were checked which revealed that three persons – a 12-year-old juvenile, a 17-year-old juvenile, and a 19-year-old youth named Akash – were involved in the theft.
Acting on secret information, the police team apprehended the 12-year-old juvenile on 12 Sep, near the railway line at Nehru Nagar.
On his instance, the stolen scooty was recovered from Zakhira flyover and seized. During interrogation, the juvenile confessed to committing the theft along with his associates Akash and the other juvenile to earn quick money and fulfill his addictions.
Further investigation is underway to trace and arrest the remaining associates, said Nidhin Valsan, DCP Central District, New Delhi.
