Central District Police have intensified their drive against illegal firecrackers ahead of the festive season. In a swift operation, the team of PS IP Estate arrested one person and recovered 70.4 kg of banned crackers. The accused was caught near Rouse Avenue Court with 32.2 kg crackers, and later, another 38.2 kg were recovered from Meena Bazaar, Jama Masjid on his instance.
The arrested person has been identified as Mohammad Tauheed Alam (44 yrs), resident of Meena Bazaar, originally from Kishanganj, Bihar. During interrogation, he disclosed that he had brought the crackers from Haryana to sell them in Delhi for profit during the festival season. Police are now tracing his suppliers.
This action was carried out under the supervision of ACP Kamla Market Ms. Sulekha Jagarwar, on the directions of SHO IP Estate Ghanshyam Kishore, and under the monitoring of SI Mukesh Tomer. The team members included SI Manish, ASI Rajkumar Giri, HC Nadim, and Ct. Rahul.

The timely action by the Central District Police not only ensured strict enforcement of the law but also helped protect citizens from potential fire hazards during the festive season.
