The Crime Branch of Delhi Police in a major breakthrough against violent crime, has arrested Sameer (25 years), son of Yamin, a resident of Village Dabar Talab, Loni, Ghaziabad (U.P.), who was wanted in an attempt to murder case registered at Police Station Wazirabad. The case was filed under FIR No. 689/2025, dated 04 oct,under relevant sections of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS)and the Arms Act. The accused had been absconding since the incident.
On 1st November, the AGS Unit of Crime Branch received a specific intelligence input about the movement of the absconding accused Sameer in Delhi. Acting on this tip-off, a special team led by Inspector Krishan Kumar and Inspector Manjeet Singh, was formed.
Under the close supervision of ACP Bhagwati Prasad and the overall guidance of DCP Crime Branch Harsh Indora, the team immediately swung into action. After laying a strategic trap and maintaining technical and manual surveillance, the accused Sameer was successfully apprehended from Dwarka, Delhi.
During sustained interrogation, Sameer confessed to his involvement in the attempt to murder case (FIR No. 689/2025), registered at PS Wazirabad. He also admitted that he had been hiding to evade arrest since the day of the incident.
The interrogation further revealed that Sameer had links with local criminal elements from his neighborhood, who influenced him during his teenage years. He gradually became involved in unlawful activities, leading to his participation in serious criminal offenses, including the recent attempt to murder case.
