The North-East District Police in a major crackdown against illegal liquor trade, have arrested a 57-year-old woman involved in bootlegging activities.
Acting on suspicion during evening patrolling on 31st October, a vigilant team from PS Jyoti Nagar — comprising Ct. Rajdeep and W/Ct. Bhawna — noticed a woman sitting on her doorstep with a bucket covered by a cloth.
Upon inspection, W/Ct. Bhawna found several liquor quarters inside the bucket. Following this, the team swiftly conducted a raid, resulting in the recovery of 7,309 quarters (1,315.62 litres) of illicit liquor of various brands, all labelled “For Sale in Haryana Only.”
The accused, identified as Ms. ABC (57 years), has a history of bootlegging with eight previous casesregistered against her.
A case under Section 33 of the Delhi Excise Act has been filed, and further investigation is in progress to trace the source and supply chain of the illegal liquor.
The North-East District Police deserve high appreciation for their alertness and swift action in apprehending a notorious female bootlegger in the Jyoti Nagar area.
Under the leadership of Ashish Kumar Mishra, DCP North-East, led to the recovery of over 7,000 quarters (1,315.62 litres) of illicit liquor. Their proactive approach once again highlights the dedication and commitment of Delhi Police towards maintaining law and order and curbing illegal liquor trade in the city.
The district police continue to set an example of efficient policing and public safety enforcement.
