The alert and perseverant team of PS Punjabi Bagh has successfully solved a high-value house theft case and arrested four accused persons. The police also recovered 156 grams of gold jewelry worth around ₹20 lakhs and ₹9.96 lakhs in cash from their possession.
On 26th September 2025, PS Punjabi Bagh received a PCR call reporting a house theft. The complainant informed that when his wife checked the almirah, she found several gold and diamond ornaments missing. Following this, a case was promptly registered under FIR No. 581/25, U/s 305 BNS.

The team scanned over 1,260 CCTV cameras and traced the movement of the accused from Punjabi Bagh to Jahangirpuri. Using technical surveillance and local intelligence, the police arrested the prime accused Jai Prakash. During questioning, he disclosed the names of his accomplices Bigan Sah and Jairam Sah, who were later caught. On the instance of Bigan, Ganesh, a jeweler who had purchased the stolen jewelry, was also arrested.
The investigation revealed that Jai Prakash and Bigan were addicted to casino gambling and online gaming. They had already booked tickets to Goa to visit the “Big Daddy Casino” and planned to spend the stolen money on gambling and luxury.
Details of the Accused:
1. Jai Prakash (32 yrs) – Resident of Jahangirpuri & Bhalswa Dairy, Delhi. Declared Bad Character (BC) of PS Jahangirpuri. Involved in 15 previous cases of robbery and theft.
2. Bigan Sah (26 yrs) – Resident of Sitamarhi, Bihar. Works as a bead seller.
3. Jairam Sah (45 yrs) – Resident of Sitamarhi, Bihar. Works at a general store. Involved in 7 previous cases of robbery and theft.
4. Ganesh (31 yrs) – Resident of Karol Bagh, Delhi. Jeweler at “Vijay Gold Touch.”
Recovery:
• 156 grams of gold jewelry worth ₹20,00,000/-
• Cash ₹9,96,000/-
• One gold bracelet and one mangal sutra
• Artificial jewelry items
