Report : Manmeen Walia, New Delhi
A tragic double murder case has been reported under the jurisdiction of PS Nabi Karim, Central District, Delhi. The deceased have been identified as:
- Aashu @ Shailendra (Age 34), S/o Bobby, R/o A-34, Amarpuri, Nabi Karim, Delhi.
- Shalini (Age 22), W/o Aakash, R/o Bagichi Pratap Nagar, Delhi.
The injured person has been identified as:
- Aakash (Age 23), S/o Pooran, R/o Bagichi Pratap Nagar, Delhi.
Incident Details:
At around 10:15 PM on October 18, Aakash and his wife Shalini had gone to meet Shalini’s mother, Sheila, at Qutub Road, Nabi Karim. During their visit, Aashu reached the location and allegedly tried to attack Aakash with a knife. Aakash managed to dodge the attack.
Aashu then noticed Shalini, who was seated in an E-rickshaw nearby, and allegedly stabbed her multiple times. When Aakash saw Aashu attacking his wife, he rushed to save her, but Aashu also stabbed him. In the struggle that followed, Aakash overpowered Aashu and stabbed him with the same knife in retaliation.
Both Aakash and Shalini were taken to Lady Hardinge Medical College (LHMC) Hospital by Shalini’s brother Rohit, while the police shifted Aashu to the same hospital. Doctors declared Aashu and Shalini as “brought dead.” Aakash is currently undergoing medical treatment.
According to Shalini’s mother Sheila, Shalini and Aakash were married and had two children. Shalini was also reportedly pregnant at the time of her death. Sheila further informed that Shalini had earlier been in a relationship with Aashu and had stayed with him as a live-in partner outside Delhi when she was not on good terms with Aakash. Recently, Shalini reconciled with Aakash and left Aashu, which allegedly angered him.
Aashu, who was a Bad Character (BC) of PS Nabi Karim, reportedly claimed to be the father of Shalini’s pregnancy, leading to tension between him and Aakash. Police records also show that Aakash has three previous criminal involvements.
Action Taken:
Based on the statement of Sheila, the mother of the deceased woman, an FIR under sections 103(1)/109(1) BNS has been registered.
DCP Nidhin Valsan, Central District, New Delhi visited the crime scene and reviewed the situation. The investigation has been taken up, and further inquiry is underway to establish the complete sequence of events.
