A major road accident took place on Ring Road near Delhi Cantt Metro Station, close to Metro Pillar No. 67. Police received multiple PCR calls about a traffic jam, and upon reaching the spot, they found a BMW car turned sideways on the road and a motorcycle near the divider.
According to eyewitnesses, a woman was driving the BMW when it collided with the motorcycle. After the crash, she and her husband hired a taxi and took the injured persons to a hospital. Later, police received information from the hospital that one person had died, while another was injured.
The deceased has been identified as Navjot Singh, who was serving as a Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Finance, Government of India.
The BMW and the motorcycle have been seized. The crime team examined the spot and the FSL team was also called in for further investigation.
It was also reported that the woman driver and her husband sustained injuries in the accident and are currently admitted to the hospital. Legal action is being taken in the case.
