Report: Manmeen Walia, New Delhi
In a brazen display of gang violence, the Sector 45 office of builders Rohit and Mohit Raheja’s company, MNR Buildmark, was targeted in a late-night firing incident on Thursday. Five armed men entered the premises by climbing the gate and fired several rounds at the office and the luxury cars parked inside.
According to police, around 9 PM, five armed shooters reached the premises, scaled the office gate, and opened indiscriminate fire on the building. The attackers also targeted luxury vehicles parked in the office lawn, firing multiple rounds at them.
Sources revealed that more than 28 rounds were fired during the assault, leaving the office premises and vehicles badly damaged. A case has been registered under the Arms Act and other relevant sections. Police teams are now working to identify and trace the shooters.
CCTV cameras installed at the office are being examined, and both the forward and backward routes of the attackers are being tracked to determine their movement before and after the crime.
The responsibility for the attack has been claimed by gangster Deepak Nandal, who is reportedly operating his syndicate from abroad. In a viral social media post, Nandal confirmed that his gang was behind the attack.
This is not the first time Nandal has been linked to high-profile crimes in the region. Earlier, he had claimed responsibility for an attack on Bollywood singer Rahul Fazilpuriya, as well as the murder of Fazilpuriya’s close associate Rohit Shaukeen. He has also taken credit for two other violent incidents in Gurugram in the past.
The repeated claims highlight a worrying trend of the gangster expanding his operations in Gurugram and attempting to establish a stronger foothold.
