The East District Police achieved a major success by arresting seven drug traffickers involved in inter-state drug supply, Under the Zero Tolerance Policy against Drugs.
The team recovered 121.58 kg of Ganja (Marijuana) and 600 grams of Smack (Heroin), together valued at around ₹1.60 crore in the illegal market.
Two cars used for transporting the drugs — a Hyundai Aura (without number plate) and a Hyundai i20 worth approximately ₹15 lakh, were also seized.
7 drug traffickers arrested, including two Bad Characters of PS Chandni Mahal and one Proclaimed Offender from PS Dwarka North.

All accused have multiple past criminal records involving robbery, theft, and Arms Act cases.
A special drive against drugs is being carried out in East District under the leadership of Abhishek Dhania, DCP East District, to curb the drug menace and ensure a drug-free society.
On 27 Oct, the Anti-Narcotics Squad (ANS) received specific information that two vehicles carrying a large quantity of narcotics would pass through Ghazipur Border, NH-9. Acting swiftly, a trap was laid by the ANS team under the close supervision of Insp. Arun Kumar (I/C ANS East) and overall guidance of Sanjay Singh, ACP Operations East.
During checking, two vehicles — a white Hyundai Aura (without number plate) and a Hyundai i20were intercepted.
From the Hyundai Aura, five bags containing 121.58 kg of Ganja were recovered, and from the Hyundai i20, 600 grams of Smack were found.
A case under FIR No. 473/25, dated 27.10.2025, U/s 20/21/25/29 NDPS Act, PS Ghazipur was registered, and all seven accused were arrested.
PROFILE OF THE ACCUSED
1. Naveel (23 yrs) – R/o Minto Road, Dariyaganj, Delhi. Drug peddler, 4 previous involvements in snatching & theft.
2. Talib (30 yrs) – R/o Turkman Gate, Delhi. Drug carrier, 22 involvements in robbery & Arms Act; Bad Character of PS Chandni Mahal.
3. Nadir Khan @ Sahil (29 yrs) – R/o Minto Road, Dariyaganj, Delhi. Drug supplier, 8 involvements; Proclaimed Offender from PS Dwarka North & Kasgunj (UP).
4. Md. Amaan (50 yrs) – R/o Turkman Gate, Delhi. Drug peddler, 32 previous cases of robbery & theft; Bad Character of PS Chandni Mahal.
5. Areeb (26 yrs) – R/o Rang Mahal, Delhi. Drug peddler, 1 previous case.
6. Arshu (26 yrs) – R/o Sangam Vihar, Delhi. Drug peddler, 28 involvements including Arms Act & robbery.
7. Tarakki (30 yrs) – R/o Turkman Gate, Delhi. Drug peddler, 3 previous cases.
During interrogation, it was revealed that the accused were previously involved in crimes like robbery and theft. Later, they shifted to drug trafficking for easy and quick money.
They procured Smack and Ganja from sources in Uttar Pradesh and sold them in Delhi-NCR in small packets. Their motive was purely financial, taking advantage of the addiction problem among local youth.
