The Cyber Police Station of New Delhi District has arrested a 20-year-old cyber fraudster from Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, who posed as an online Tantrik (spiritual healer) on Instagram to cheat people. The accused created fake social media accounts and a bogus website offering false “spiritual solutions” to innocent victims.
The case began with a complaint from Ms. Manisha Naveen Jiloya, a resident of Chanakyapuri, New Delhi. She came across an Instagram page named @AGHORI_JI_RAJASTHAN, which claimed to remove evil spirits and solve family or relationship problems through special rituals.
The fraudster convinced her that her house was haunted and demanded money to perform rituals. The victim trusted him and transferred ₹1,14,000, after which he stopped responding to her calls and messages.
A FIR was registered at Cyber Police Station, New Delhi District.
A special team led by Inspector Harish Chandra, SHO Cyber Police Station, and supervised by ACP Operations V.K.P.S. Yadav, was formed.
The team analysed the accused’s Instagram account, mobile numbers, and bank transactions. The cheated money was traced to accounts in the name of Rahul, son of Omprakash, and his family members. Using technical surveillance, police tracked his movements and found him hiding in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan.
On 09 Sep, the police conducted a raid and arrested the accused. During interrogation, he confessed to creating fake Instagram pages and running online ads to attract more victims.

The accused created multiple fake Instagram pages and a website in the name of @AGHORI_JI_RAJASTHAN, posing as a black magic expert. He posted edited photos and videos claiming supernatural powers and offered fake services like:
“ब्रेकअप प्रॉब्लम सॉल्यूशन, मनचाहा प्यार, पति-पत्नी में अनबन, पारिवारिक समस्या, ग्रह कलेश, सौतन से छुटकारा आदि।”
He tricked victims by creating fear and asked for payments via UPI linked to his or his family’s bank accounts. Once he received the money, he stopped responding. So far, more than 50 people have been cheated using the same method.

Further Investigation:
The mobile phones, SIM cards, and bank details have been sent to Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) for cross-verification. Police are checking for similar cases linked to the accused across India. The fake website and other social media accounts are also being analysed to identify more victims.
