In a major success for India’s security forces, a big terror plan has been foiled after a joint operation by Jammu & Kashmir Police, Haryana Police, and Faridabad Police. During the raids, police found around 360 kg of explosive material, believed to be ammonium nitrate, along with 20 timers, 4 battery timers, and other bomb-making items.
Police also recovered one canter rifle, 83 live bullets, a pistol, two magazines, and more weapons from the site.
Faridabad Police Commissioner Satyendra Gupta held a press conference and confirmed that the joint operation had been running for the past several days. He said, “We were working on an anti-terror module. During the raid, a large quantity of explosives and weapons was found. The material is suspected to be ammonium nitrate, not RDX. The investigation is still going on, and for national security reasons, we cannot share more details.”
According to officials, two accused have been arrested — Dr. Muzammil from Faridabad and another from Saharanpur. Muzammil was a teacher at Al-Falah University and was taken into custody around 9–10 days ago.
The operation is linked to an earlier arrest by the J&K Police of Dr. Adil Ahmad Rather, who was caught for pasting Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terror posters in Srinagar. After his arrest, police found an AK-47 rifle from his locker at GMC Anantnag, where he worked as a Senior Resident till October 2024.
During further investigation, police raided locations in Faridabad and Saharanpur and discovered that Dr. Mufazzil Shakeel, who was staying in Faridabad, was also involved. From his rented house, police recovered 350 kg of explosives, 2 AK-47 rifles, and a large amount of ammunition. He is currently on the run, and teams are searching for him.
Police believe this module was planning a major terror attack, but the timely and smart action of the police forces saved the country from a big tragedy.
