Report: Manmeen Walia, New Delhi
The Anti-Narcotics Cell of Dwarka District has successfully arrested Ankit, a notorious shooter of the Himanshu Bhau gang, who carries a police bounty of ₹25,000. The accused was planning to target rival gang members in the Najafgarh area.
Ankit, aged 25, son of Surender, resident of Vill Gorad, Sonipat, Haryana, has a history of violent crimes. In 2020, he had fired upon Haryana Police, injuring one constable. Since joining the Himanshu Bhau gang in 2020, Ankit became an active member, inspired by social media content of gang leaders Neeraj Bawana and Himanshu Bhau.
On 28 Oct 25, a violent firing incident occurred between shooters of the Himanshu Bhau gang and the Ashok Pradhan gang. Four shooters from the Himanshu Bhau gang fired around 15 rounds at Rohit Lamba, a hardcore criminal associated with the Ashok Pradhan gang, previously involved in over 20 criminal cases including murder and dacoity.
Following Rohit Lamba’s complaint, FIR No. 331/25, dated 28 Oct 2025, was registered at PS Najafgarh under relevant sections of the Arms Act and BNS.
A dedicated Anti-Narcotics Cell team was formed to trace the shooters. Investigations revealed that the gang leaders were giving directions from abroad via social media. Earlier, four logistics providers, shooters, and conspirators of the Himanshu Bhau gang were arrested.
It was confirmed that two main shooters, Ankit and Deepak, were absconding and had fired at Rohit Lamba. Delhi Police had announced a reward of ₹25,000 each for information leading to their arrest.
On 27 Nov 25, police received information that Ankit would be near Sai Baba Mandir, Najafgarh. A special trap was laid near UER-II bus stand.
At 08:05 AM, Ankit arrived on a motorcycle and was asked to stop. Instead, he fired three rounds at the police team. One bullet hit HC Kuldeep’s bulletproof jacket, narrowly missing him.
