Central Delhi, Karol Bagh Police have arrested a woman for stealing jewellery worth ₹33 lakh and recovered all the stolen items.
On 20th November 2025, a staff manager and his colleague from Malabar Gold & Diamonds visited Karol Bagh to get some jewellery repaired. After the work was done, they hired an e-rickshaw to return to their shop. On reaching their store, they discovered that a bag containing gold and other jewellery items had been stolen during the journey. The complainant immediately filed an E-FIR at PS Karol Bagh.
A special team led by Inspector Karuna Sagar, SHO of PS Karol Bagh, including SI Sahil Dahiya, Ct. Kamaljeet, Ct. Khushhal, and W/Ct. Meera, was formed under the supervision of the ACP. The team worked meticulously, analyzing multiple CCTV cameras, tracking the suspect for about 16 km, using technical surveillance, and following information provided by secret informers.
Their efforts led to the identification of a 35-year-old woman from Sultanpuri, Outer North Delhi. She was arrested from her residence, and during the search, all the stolen jewellery was recovered.
During interrogation, the accused admitted her crime. She revealed that she had boarded the same e-rickshaw as the complainants. Seeing the Malabar Gold jacket, she assumed the bag had valuables. She discreetly took a small bag from the complainant’s backpack, which contained the jewellery.
Accused: Lady “U”, 35 years old, resident of Sultanpuri, Delhi.
Recovery: All jewellery items worth approximately ₹33 lakh were recovered.
This successful operation highlights the exemplary leadership and dedication of SHO Inspector Karuna Sagar and the effective supervision by ACP Karol Bagh, whose guidance ensured that the case was solved quickly and efficiently, bringing relief to the victims.
