The South District in Delhi has made a big achievement by breaking up a three-level illegal firearms network.”The team arrested three known criminals named Farman, Shabad Qureshi, and Mohsin in this case.They recovered semi-automatic pistols, one single-shot CMP, and five live bullets. Because of more incidents of celebratory and illegal firing in Delhi and the surrounding area, the DCP of the South District Ankit Chauhan IPS asked the team to increase their watch on criminals who show off firearms on social media. On September 3, 2025, someone posted a video on Instagram showing him firing a pistol in public. Because the situation was serious, a team was formed and supervised by ACP Arvind Kumar, to catch the person responsible.During the course of investigation, the team looked into every detail and used technology to track the suspect. On the night of September 03/04.09.2025, they got a tip about his location near Machchi Market, Saket. The team quickly raided the area and arrested him. His name is Farman, and they found 01semi-automatic pistol and 02 Live cartridges.During questioning, he revealed that he got the weapon from someone named Shabad Qureshi. Acting quickly, the team raided Shabad’s place in Chhattarpur, New Delhi, and found 01 country-made pistol and 01live cartridge. Further, accused Shahad told the team that he got the firearms from someone named Mohsin. The team received secret information regarding the accused person and through surveillance and technical analyse they found Mohsin’s location in Subhash Mohalla, Maujpur, and arrested him. all the suspects were arrested, and from his possessions ,the team seized 01 more semi-automatic pistol with 02 live cartridges. All the accused were arrested and total,02 semi-automatic pistols, 01 single shot CMP and 05 live cartridges were seized. The accused procured firearms from outside sources and circulated among local criminals in Delhi. Mohsin acted as the supplier, shadab purchased the weapons at low prices ans sold them to criminals at a profit of 5000-7000 Per pistol. Further investigation is in progress to trace the remaining nexus and possible buyers of these weapons.
