The North District Police Delhi, have solved an armed robbery case with in 24 hrs. A case was registered at PS Burari, New Delhi
Two accused were arrested. As on 30Sep, a man named Akhilesh (52), who works with a TV channel and lives in Kaushik Enclave, Burari, was attacked near Oscar Public School while returning home from a religious programme early morning. Two men on a scooty pushed him, threatened him with a knife, and robbed his Samsung A-15 mobile phone before fleeing.
A case was registered at PS Burari. A special team was formed under the leadership and guidance of ACP Shashikant Gaur. The team divided into groups and checked several CCTV cameras, road footage, and details of local criminals. With the help of local sources and a secret informer, they tracked down the scooty and laid a trap. Within 24 hours, both accused were arrested from Harit Vihar, Burari.
Accused History:
- Kanhaiya (28), a Rapido rider from Chandan Vihar, Burari, has a criminal past and was earlier booked in a POCSO case.
- Kunal (31), a driver from Nehru Gali, Burari, has recently stepped into crime and was trying to make his mark in the world of criminals.
Both confessed that they are drug addicts and used to attack innocent people late at night to fund their habits.
Recoveries made:
- Robbed mobile phone (Samsung A-15)
- Scooty Yamaha Ray-ZR, used in the crime (Owned by the mother of accused Kanhaiya)
- Knife used in the robbery
Under the supervision of DCP North District, Shri Raja Banthia, the case was solved within 24 hours. He appreciated the proper teamwork of his officers, stating that their strong coordination, dedication, and swift action reflect the commitment of North District Police in ensuring the safety and security of citizens.
