Central District Police of PS IP Estate cracked an attempt to murder case within hours, showcasing prompt response and effective investigation.
On 22Sep a PCR call informed that an injured person had been admitted to LNJP Hospital. Police reached the spot and found that the complainant had minor injuries, while his associate had sustained stab wounds on the chest and back.
The complainant reported that he and his group were carrying Jyot from Kalkaji Mandir to Seelampur on the eve of Navratri. Another group, also carrying Jyot, tried to overtake them, leading to a clash over DJ music. Near MG Road, Gandhi Museum, an argument broke out, and two persons from the rival group attacked them with a knife.
On his statement, FIR under relevant sections of BNS was registered and investigation was initiated.
A team under the supervision of Insp. Ghanshyam Kishore, SHO/IP Estate, and overall guidance of ACP Kamla Market, was constituted.
The team scanned multiple CCTV cameras from ITO to Rajghat, conducted local enquiries, and made effective use of technical and manual surveillance. Investigation revealed that the rival group’s DJ music originated from Khajoori Khas. Acting swiftly, multiple raids were conducted in the area with local intelligence support.
Within hours of the incident, the Central District Police apprehended one accused, Kanhaiya @ Vivek (21), a Zomato delivery boy, along with one CCL (17 years). The weapon of offence, a knife, was also recovered from the possession of Kanhaiya. During interrogation, he confessed to his involvement and disclosed that after an argument with the complainant’s group, he attacked the associate with a knife in the heat of the moment.
The accused has been identified as a resident of H.No. 127, F-Block, Gali No. 10, Khajoori Khas, Delhi, and had been working as a Zomato delivery boy for the past year.
