Report: Manmeen Walia, New Delhi
DCP Crime Branch Harsh Indora, the WR-II/Crime Branch has achieved a major breakthrough by arresting two dreaded interstate criminals of the notorious Pardi Gang — Arun Pardi and Tega Pardi, both residents of Guna, Madhya Pradesh. The duo was wanted in more than 60 cases including murder, attempt to murder, armed robberies, dacoities, and night house burglaries across Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi and other North Indian states.
Both accused carried a reward of ₹10,000 each, announced by MP Police. One of them, Tega Pardi, had dramatically escaped from police custody in 2024 and had been absconding since.
After a series of night burglaries in South Delhi (Neb Sarai, Hauz Khas, Malviya Nagar), the Crime Branch developed inputs on the involvement of the Pardi Gang. On 14th Nov, HC Dinesh received specific intel that Arun and Tega would arrive near Shahabad Railway Station, Dwarka, to meet an associate.
Acting swiftly, a team led by Inspector Akshay Gahlaut, including HC Dinesh, HC Sushil, HC Ankit, HC Bhanwar, and HC Gaurav, conducted a well-planned trap.
The operation was carried out under the close supervision of ACP WR-II Rajpal Dabas and overall command of DCP Harsh Indora. Both criminals were arrested on the spot.
The accused revealed that their gang has been operating for generations.
• They belong to a nomadic criminal tribe that sets up temporary huts (“Dera”) near railway stations and roadsides.
• To hide their identity, they pose as toy and balloon sellers at red lights and markets while secretly doing reconnaissance in residential colonies.
• At night, they commit burglaries in groups—often half-naked—armed with stones and gulel(slingshots).
• If a resident wakes up, they use blunt force targeting the head, often leading to death.
• After every crime, they immediately shift cities/states, making tracking extremely challenging.
Both individuals have extensive criminal records in MP, Rajasthan, Haryana, Gujarat and Delhi, stretching over two decades.
Tega Pardi (first arrested in 2001):
• Involved in dacoity, arms cases, burglaries, assault, murder attempts.
• Escaped from police custody in 2024 during treatment in a hospital.
• Wanted in multiple BNS and IPC sections across states.
Arun Pardi (first arrested in 2015):
• Accused in murder, armed robbery, assault, burglary and conspiracy cases.
• Skipped court hearings after bail; NBW issued.
• Has been continuously hiding in Delhi–Haryana region to avoid arrest.
Following legal formalities, both accused were handed over to Madhya Pradesh Police for further action. Their arrest is a major success against interstate criminal gangs that operate across state borders with highly mobile setups.
This successful operation once again highlights the outstanding leadership of DCP Harsh Indora. His sharp supervision, quick decision-making, and strong commitment to public safety played a key role in nabbing these dangerous interstate criminals. The dedication and teamwork of the entire Crime Branch unit, guided by DCP Harsh Indora, deserve high appreciation for protecting Delhi and ensuring that wanted offenders do not escape the law.
