The Delhi Police Crime Branch, under the supervision of DCP Harsh Indora, Crime Branch, has arrested three wanted robbers in a joint operation with Rajasthan Police. The accused were involved in a robbery case in Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan, where they had posed as policemen and carried out a film-style robbery inside a house.
The arrested accused have been identified as:
1. Baljinder Singh (50 years), resident of Jagraon, Punjab
2. Sarvjeet Singh (25 years), resident of Jagraon, Punjab
3. Surender Singh, resident of Chander Vihar, Nihal Vihar, Delhi
All three were carrying a reward of ₹10,000 each, declared by Rajasthan Police.
On the night of 18th October, around 10 PM, five to six masked robbers dressed as police officers and traveling in a red-beacon car entered the house of Gurcharan Singh in the Gujarawali Cut area of Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan. They threatened the family at gunpoint and started looting valuables. However, Gurcharan Singh managed to alert neighbors, forcing the robbers to flee with mobile phones and some valuables.
During the investigation, Rajasthan Police traced a mobile number used by the accused, which was registered under a fake name and later switched off. The phone’s last location was found in Delhi.
Rajasthan Police immediately shared the lead with the AGS Unit of the Delhi Police Crime Branch, headed by DCP Harsh Indora, Crime Branch, Acting swiftly, the team began technical surveillance and intelligence-based tracking.
Based on the inputs, a raid was conducted in Chander Vihar, leading to the arrest of Baljinder Singh, a habitual offender. During interrogation, he revealed the names of his associates Sarvjeet Singh and Surender Singh, who were also arrested during overnight raids.
Criminal Background:
• Baljinder Singh has a history of 52 criminal cases, including robbery, theft, and Arms Act violations.
• He has spent 17 years in jail and has also been convicted under the MCOCA Act.
• All three were wanted by Rajasthan Police for the Sri Ganganagar robbery case.
This successful joint operation between Delhi Police Crime Branch and Rajasthan Police demonstrates strong coordination, prompt action, and effective teamwork between the two forces.
